Import Amplitude Cohorts into Wingify for Campaign Targeting

Overview

If you want to create targeted experiences for specific user segments identified in Amplitude, you can integrate Amplitude with Wingify and import your cohorts for campaign targeting. For example, you might have an Amplitude cohort of "Power Users" who have performed certain key actions in your product (like using advanced features or having high engagement metrics). Using this integration, you can import this cohort into Wingify and create personalized A/B tests or targeted campaigns specifically for these power users.

Importing Amplitude cohorts into Wingify and using them to target visitors in your campaign involves the following steps:

1. Enable Wingify Amplitude Destination in Amplitude
2. Sync Amplitude Cohorts with Wingify
3. Import Amplitude Cohorts into Wingify

Important: Before configuring the Wingify destination in Amplitude, create an Import Cohorts from Amplitude connection in Wingify to generate the required API key. For instructions on creating the connection and accessing the API key, see Integrate Wingify with Amplitude.

Enable Wingify Amplitude Destination in Amplitude

To import Amplitude cohorts into your Wingify account, configure Wingify Destination in Amplitude. This enables the transfer of cohort data from Amplitude to Wingify. You can do that by performing the following steps from your Amplitude account:

1. From the Amplitude dashboard, navigate to Data > Catalog, search for Wingify under Destinations, and open the destination.
2. Click Add another destination.
3. In the Add Destination pop-up, enter a name for the destination and paste the API key.
4. Click Select user property, search for Device ID, and select it.
5. Click Save.

Your Wingify Amplitude destination is successfully created.

Sync Amplitude Cohorts with Wingify

To sync Amplitude cohorts with Wingify:

1. Go to the required cohort and click Sync.
2. Once the Select Destination pop-up appears, click the Wingify destination.
3. Now, select the destination you have created and click Next.
4. Select the frequency of the sync and click Sync.

Import Amplitude Cohorts into Wingify

After syncing your Amplitude cohorts to the Wingify destination, complete the remaining setup in Wingify to import them for campaign targeting.

To import Amplitude cohorts into Wingify:

1. Log in to your Wingify account.
2. From the left panel, navigate to Configurations > Integrations.
3. Click the Amplitude integration tile and click Create Connection.
4. Select Import Cohorts from Amplitude.
5. Enter a name in the Connection Name field and click Create Connection.
6. Once the connection is created, click Add Cohorts under the Cohorts Synced column.
7. In the Cohorts added to target visitors in Wingify panel, enter the name of the Amplitude cohort in the search bar or directly select from the list of cohorts displayed.
8. Click Add.

Target a Campaign Using Amplitude Cohorts

After importing Amplitude cohorts into Wingify, you can use them for campaign targeting.

To do this, perform the following steps:

1. Log in to your Wingify account.
2. From the left navigation sidebar, select Web Experimentation and select your campaign.
3. On the Configuration page, go to Targeting. Under Segments, select Custom Segment and create a segment using the Amplitude Cohort condition.
4. To add multiple conditions, click Add another condition. You can also define the logical relationship between conditions using the and/or operators and use brackets to organize the segment condition.
5. Once done, click Save Segment. In the popup that appears, enter a segment name, optionally add a description, and click Save.
6. Click Apply to apply the segment to the campaign.
