Overview
With imported Mixpanel cohorts, you can target specific groups of visitors in your Wingify campaigns. For example, if you want to engage newsletter subscribers, you can create a campaign that offers them a personalized promotion or discount. This ensures that your targeting is precise and your offers are relevant to drive better engagement and conversions.
To import Mixpanel cohorts into Wingify, create an Import Cohorts from Mixpanel connection. Refer to Integrating Wingify With Mixpanel to set up the connection. Once created, the API key is generated and displayed in the Active Connections table. Use this key to configure the Wingify integration in Mixpanel.
Importing Mixpanel cohorts into Wingify and using them to target visitors in your campaign involves the following steps:
Attention: After completing this setup, make sure to call the identify method (window.mixpanel.identify('YOUR_USER_ID')) on the page. This step is essential for creating user profiles. If you miss this step, users will not become a part of any cohort.
Export Cohorts from Mixpanel
Perform the following in your Mixpanel account to enable Wingify integration in Mixpanel and configure the export of the relevant cohorts:
- Navigate to the list of integrations and connect the Wingify integration using the API key generated in Wingify when prompted to enter the API key.
- To export the relevant cohorts to Wingify, go to Cohorts, select the ellipsis icon (...) along the respective cohort, select Export to, and select Wingify integration.
Add Exported Cohorts in Wingify
To add Mixpanel cohorts into your Wingify account:
- Go to Configurations > Integrations > Mixpanel.
- Under Active Connections, find the Import Cohorts from Mixpanel connection and click Add Cohorts.
- In the Add Mixpanel Cohorts popup, select the required cohorts from the list and click Add.
Note:
- Wingify syncs each cohort individually every 24 hours, starting from the last sync time.
- Wingify only supports recurring synchronization with Mixpanel cohorts. This ensures that cohort data is updated every two hours.
- The number of cohorts that you can import is subject to the Attributes List consumption quota.
Use Mixpanel Cohorts for Targeting Your Wingify Test Campaigns
All Mixpanel cohorts that are synced into Wingify appear as Attributes List in Wingify. You can access the attributes lists from Settings > Accounts > Attributes in Wingify and use them to target visitors for your test campaigns.
For example, you want to target visitors from your Mixpanel cohorts who have a certain cookie value. Perform the following steps in your Wingify campaign:
- Go to Web Experimentation and select your campaign.
- On the Configuration page, go to Targeting. Under Segments, select Custom Segment.
- From the first dropdown, select the attribute you want to use. Select Cookie value.
- Enter the name of the cookie as _vwo_uuid.
- From the dropdown next to the name field, select In list, and in the subsequent dropdown, select the Mixpanel cohort list.
- Click Save Segment. In the popup that appears, enter a name in the Segment Name, optionally add a description, and click Save.
- Click Apply to apply the segment to the campaign
