What is a Sub-domain?
A subdomain is also known as a child domain.
For Example, If you choose website URL as www.mywebsite.com and the subdomain as mywebsite, your subdomain on Wingify Engage (formerly PushCrew) will be mywebsite.pushcrew.com
Why Sub-domain is required?
Once you sign up on Wingify Engage, by default the implementation type is HTTP (or 2 steps opt-in). Customers who are on HTTP websites and do not support HTTPS have to send notifications on behalf of PushCrew.com.
This means one Wingify Engage account is mapped to one subdomain (Wingify Engage branded subdomain like https://mywebsite.pushcrew.com) for collecting subscribers on.
Customers create a subdomain with us - https://mywebsite.pushcrew.com and notifications to users are sent from this domain.
Chrome sets a restriction upon subscribing and sending notifications from http. Users see notifications coming from mywebsite.pushcrew.com when the subdomain is short.
How to create sub-domain?
Once you sing up on Wingify Engage, you will be directed to the Wingify Engage dashboard where you need to fill the below information:
Please ensure that the Subdomain can only contain alphanumeric characters, dashes or underscores.
