Overview
With Wandz Agents, you can create agents that handle complex and repetitive use cases tailored to your business needs. Once configured, these agents can also be used to build and automate complex tasks and workflows.
This article walks you through configuring new agents and using them in the chat interface. It also explains how to edit existing agents, troubleshoot common configuration issues, and find answers to frequently asked questions.
Prerequisites
- You must have an active Wingify account with the Wandz Advanced or Free trial plan.
Create and Configure a New Agent
You can create an agent in two ways:
- Using the Wandz Agents interface from the dashboard.
-
Using the Create New Agent option while setting up an Agent node in Workflows.
To learn how to create a new agent while setting up an Agent node in a workflow, refer to the Add agent nodes section.
To create and configure a new agent using the Agents interface:
- From the main navigation menu on the left, go to Wandz > Agents.
- Click Create to start the new agent creation workflow.
- Enter a unique Agent Name that describes its role.
-
[Optional] The Agent ID is auto-generated based on the agent’s name. Modify it to suit your requirements.
Note: You can edit the Agent ID only while creating the agent. You can not edit it once the agent is created. - Enter a high-level Goal that describes what you want the agent to accomplish.
- (Optional) In the Prompt field. Click Generate Prompt. This option automatically generates a detailed prompt based on the goal you define.
- Alternatively, you can manually enter a detailed prompt in the Prompt field. This helps the agent understand how to process the input and structure its output.
- Review and edit the auto-generated prompt if required.
- Click Create.
Your agent is now configured and ready. You can now use it in the Wandz Chat interface and in Workflows. You can also edit an agent after configuring it. For more information, see Edit an Existing Agent.
Test an Existing Agent
Once you create an agent, you can test it to check if it produces the required output. To test an agent:
- In the Agents window, click Chat in the top right corner.
Your agent is automatically invoked in the chat window. As an alternate method, you can select your agent from the My agents list and then click Chat to test it. - Enter a query in the chat input field.
- Based on your agent’s configuration, review the output of the agent.
If the output does not meet your expectations, you can edit the agent’s prompt and retest it.
Edit an Existing Agent
You can modify an agent's configuration at any time to refine its goal or update its prompt. To edit the agent configuration:
- From the main navigation menu on the left, go to Wandz > Agents.
- Select the specific agent you wish to modify from the My Agents list in the left panel.
- Click Edit in the top-right corner of the agent details page.
- Update the agent details as required.
- Click Save to apply the changes to your agent.
A notification confirms that the agent is updated successfully.
Use Agents in the Chat Interface and Workflows
Once created, you can use your agents to:
- Interact with them through the conversational chat window in Wandz Chat and
- Configure complex Workflows to automate repetitive tasks. To learn more about using agents for configuring workflows, see Build a Wandz Workflow Manually to Automate Tasks.
To interact with your agent in the chat window:
- From the main navigation menu on the left, go to Wandz > Chat.
- In the chat field, click + and select Agents.
- Select your specialized agent from the list to invoke it. Alternatively, you can invoke the agent in the chat field by typing @ followed by the agent name, for example, @CampaignAnalysisAgent.
- Enter your query. The agent processes the request and returns a response that may include text, data points, charts, and direct links to session recordings or heatmaps.
This real-time interaction enables you to analyze data and generate insights instantly based on the goals configured for the agent in use.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Possible Cause | Recommended Solution |
| The agent gives generic answers. | The goal or prompt is not defined clearly. | Refine the agent's prompt with specific instructions on how to analyze data and what output format to use. |
FAQs

Does using an Agent in chat depend on whether the Workflow trigger conditions have been met?
No. Agent chat works independently of Workflow triggers. You can interact with an agent anytime, regardless of whether a Workflow has been triggered or run.

Both Agents and Workflows consume credits from your account's credit allocation. For more information, see Manage Wandz AI Credits.
