Overview
When you delete a campaign, Wingify moves it to the Trash Bin instead of removing it from your account. The deleted campaigns stay in the Trash Bin until you restore them or permanently delete them.
The Trash Bin page groups deleted campaigns by product, including Behavior Analytics, Feature Management, User Feedback, Web Experimentation, and Web Personalization.
From the Trash Bin, you can:
- Search and filter deleted campaigns.
- Restore campaigns individually or in bulk.
- Permanently delete campaigns individually or in bulk.
- Clear all deleted campaigns in one action.
Delete Campaigns
To delete one or more campaigns and move them to the Trash Bin:
- Log in to your Wingify account. In the left navigation menu, go to Experimentation > Web Experimentation, and navigate to the campaign you want to delete.
- Click the More Options
menu in a campaign row and select Delete. Alternatively, select the checkbox next to one or more campaigns, then click Delete in the action bar that appears above the list.
- In the Delete campaign (or Delete campaigns, for multiple selections) dialog, click Delete. The dialog displays the total count of selected campaigns and confirms that they will move to the Trash Bin until permanently deleted.
Wingify displays a toast confirmation message once the campaign is moved to the Trash Bin. If required, click Undo to restore the campaign to the listing, or click the Trash Bin to open it.
Access Trash Bin
You can access the Trash Bin in either of two ways:
- Go to the user profile menu and click Trash Bin.
- In the toast confirmation message that appears after deleting a campaign, click the Trash Bin link.
Each group header shows its campaign count and is in a collapsed state by default. Click a group header to expand or collapse it.
Each row shows the campaign name and, under the Deleted on/by column, the deletion date and the user or account that deleted it.
Search and Filter Campaigns in the Trash Bin
You can use the following options at the top of the Trash Bin page to locate specific campaigns:
| Option | What it does |
| Search | Finds campaigns by name. |
| Type | Filters campaigns by product. |
| Deleted on | Filters campaigns by the date they were deleted. |
| Deleted by | Filters campaigns by the user or account that deleted them. |
To clear all active search and filter criteria, click Clear All.
If no campaigns match your search or filter criteria, the page displays No data found, with the message "Try changing the filter or Show all data." Click Show all data to reset the view.
Sort Campaigns
Click the Sort icon next to Name to sort items in ascending or descending order. Wingify sorts product groups alphabetically, and campaigns within each group follow the same alphabetical and numerical order.
Restore Campaigns
To restore a campaign, click the Restore icon in the campaign row. Alternatively, select the checkbox next to one or more campaigns, then click Restore in the action bar that appears above the list.
To restore every campaign in the Trash Bin, select the checkbox in the table header. This selects all campaigns across every group, including those in collapsed groups. Restore works on up to 20 campaigns at a time, so restore larger sets in batches.
After you restore campaigns, Wingify displays a toast confirmation message with two options:
- View campaign: Opens the restored campaign.
- Undo: Moves the campaign back to the Trash Bin, confirmed by a toast message.
Campaign Status Behavior on Restore
Restoring a campaign does not always return it to its previous status. The status after restoration depends on the campaign's status before deletion.
The following table shows what status to expect when restoring a campaign:
| Status Before Deletion | Status After Restore |
| Partially configured draft | Draft |
| Fully configured draft | Archived |
| Any other status (for example, In QA, Ready to launch, Running) | Archived |
To resume work on an archived campaign:
- Go to Experimentation > Web Experimentation.
- Click the By status tab and expand the Archived group to find the archived campaign.
- Select the checkbox next to the archived campaign, then click Unarchive in the action bar that appears above the list.
The campaign's status changes to Paused. - On the campaign listing page, click the Paused status in the Status column.
- In the Next Steps dropdown that appears, select the status you want, such as Running or Ended.
For more details, see Campaign State Lifecycle in Wingify.
Permanently Delete Campaigns
Permanently deleting a campaign removes it completely from your account with no option to recover it. Use Delete Permanently to remove selected campaigns (up to 20 at a time), or use Clear All Trash to remove everything in the Trash Bin at once.
Delete Permanently
To permanently delete campaigns from the Trash Bin:
- Choose how to select the campaigns:
-
Delete one campaign: Click the Delete Permanently
icon in the campaign's row.
- Delete multiple campaigns: Select the checkbox next to each campaign you want to remove, then click Delete Permanently in the action bar that appears above the list.
-
Delete all campaigns: Select the checkbox in the table header, then click Delete Permanently
icon. This includes campaigns in collapsed groups. If you select more than 20 campaigns, use Clear All Trash instead.
A Delete Permanently confirmation dialog appears, warning that the selected campaigns will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
-
Delete one campaign: Click the Delete Permanently
-
Click Delete Permanently to confirm, or click Cancel to close the dialog without deleting anything.
Note: Delete Permanently applies to 20 campaigns at a time. If your selection exceeds this, Wingify displays an error message. To delete all trashed campaigns at once without this limit, use Clear All Trash.
Clear All Trash
To permanently delete every campaign in the Trash Bin at once:
- Click Clear All Trash in the top-right corner of the Trash Bin.
The dialog warns that all items in the Trash Bin will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. - In the Clear All Trash confirmation dialog, click Clear All Trash to confirm, or click Cancel to close the dialog without deleting anything.
Wingify processes this as a background job, which can take up to two minutes. A toast message confirms once the process is complete.
FAQs
-
Is Trash Bin a campaign status?
No. Trash Bin is a separate, dedicated page. You cannot change a campaign's status to Trash Bin using the campaign’s Status dropdown.
-
Why did my restored campaign come back as Archived instead of Running/In QA?
Only partially configured draft campaigns are restored as Draft. Campaigns deleted from any other status (Running, In QA, Ready to launch) are restored as Archived to prevent unintended active execution. For more information, see Campaign Status Behavior on Restore.
-
How long do campaigns stay in the Trash Bin before they're permanently deleted?
There is no retention timeline. Campaigns stay in the Trash Bin indefinitely until you manually delete them permanently, either individually or using Clear All Trash.
