This article outlines the prerequisites and conditions you should be aware of before using Wingify.
-
SmartCode Installation: To use Wingify on your website, you must first install the Wingify SmartCode JS snippet. Once installed, you can verify the setup by entering your URL in the SmartCode Checker. You can find it under Configurations > Websites and Apps > Your website’s domain. For more information, refer to SmartCode Checker.
Note: Wingify only supports domain-name-based URLs. If needed, you can set up a separate workspace to validate your A/B tests before cloning them to your production account. -
Using Wingify with Tag Managers: If you plan to deploy the Wingify SmartCode via a tag manager, keep in mind that tag managers operate asynchronously, meaning you cannot guarantee the order in which tags fire. If the Wingify SmartCode loads later than expected, your A/B test changes may appear with a slight delay, causing visitors to briefly see the original (control) page before the variation loads. Additionally, since tag managers typically run multiple scripts, the Wingify script may behave differently across various sections of your website, even if it works correctly on one page type, such as a blog.
Note: The loading delay is a known limitation across all A/B testing platforms, not specific to Wingify. -
Browser Compatibility: For the best experience, Wingify recommends using the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.
Note: Safari and Firefox (version 67 and above) disable third-party cookies by default. You must enable them manually to use features such as the Campaign Builder, Heatmaps, or Live Previews. - No-Code Setup: If you prefer to set up campaigns without writing any code, install the Wingify Plugin on your webpages. It automatically adds the SmartCode to your website, making the setup seamless and hassle-free.
