Link Session Recordings with Heatmaps

Access session recordings from heatmaps/frictionmaps

Linking heatmaps with session recordings lets you analyze user activity visually and access relevant recordings seamlessly. With this feature, when you select specific areas on the heatmap, you can instantly retrieve session recordings of visitors who clicked or encountered friction in those areas.

This integration provides a direct way to observe user intent, patterns, and pain points. Thus, bridging the gap between user experience and data and enhancing behavioral analysis. It helps you:

• Understand why users clicked or struggled in specific areas.
• Save time by filtering recordings based on heatmap activity.
• Get an AI-generated grouped-session summary, reducing the need for manual review.

For example, a clothing retailer notices a high concentration of rage clicks on the Apply Coupon field in the frictionmap. Using the interconnectivity, they can easily filter the session recordings. From the session recordings, they discover users struggling with invalid coupon codes or searching for a discount. So, they improve the UX by offering real-time coupon validation, auto-applying discounts, or displaying a Find Coupons feature.

Additionally, you can use Wingify AI for Session Recordings feature to generate a grouped summary of selected session recordings. The summary provides a detailed report of key actions, issues, or patterns observed in the selected recordings.

For example, an online learning platform discovers that users are struggling with course selection. Wingify AI analyzes a group of session recordings and identifies common friction points, such as users leaving the course page because they were struggling with the filter options. Wingify AI then generates a combined summary of all recordings. It includes a detailed report of key actions, issues, or patterns observed in the selected recordings. Based on the analysis, they simplify the filter interface and add a progress indicator, which leads to better user engagement and more course enrollments.

To view session recordings tied to specific click/friction zones:

1. Open the heatmap/frictionmap and locate a cluster.
2. Identify areas with clicks on a heatmap or friction on a frictionmap.
3. Once identified, click and hold the mouse button, then drag the cursor over the desired area to select a part of the cluster. The Session Recordings pop-up displays the 5 most recent session recordings from users who interacted with that area.
4. To watch a recording, click the Play icon against it. The recording opens in a new tab. 
5. To view all recordings, click View all Recordings in the pop-up. The Session Recordings page opens in a new tab displaying the entire list.

Get AI-generated grouped-session recording summaries

Use Wingify Session Recording Wingify AI to generate a combined summary of all recordings. The summary is based on the most recent 50 recordings. It includes a detailed report of key actions, issues, or patterns observed in the selected recordings.

To generate a combined summary of all recordings:

1. Open the heatmap/frictionmap and locate a cluster.
2. Identify areas with clicks on a heatmap or friction on a frictionmap.
3. Click Summarize in the Session Recordings pop-up. The Grouped Recording Summary panel displays a combined summary of all the recordings.

NOTE: The system must capture at least one click on a element to generate a summary. Wingify AI may fail to generate a grouped recording summary if not enough key interactions are available to analyze the session recordings. In this case, try adjusting your filters or capturing more data.

You can now interact with the summary report and maximize its value by performing various actions such as, downloading the summary, sharing it with collaborators, adding focus areas, viewing insight-specific recommendations and saving them as hypotheses. • Download the summary Click the Download Report icon on the summary report to save it for offline access or future reference.
• Share the report Click the Share Report icon to send a copy of the summary to your peers, colleagues, and stakeholders. This helps you distribute and collaborate on the insights.
• Report a bug Use this option to flag an issue you came across in the report.
• View recommendations Each Key Insight in the report is paired with a recommendation. It offers tailored suggestions relevant to that insight. Click Recommendation to expand and view the details.

• Save recommendations as hypotheses If you like a recommendation suggested by Wingify AI, you can save it as a potential strategy for further exploration. Click Save as Hypothesis to create a hypothesis and save it.

• Generate more insights On the summary panel, click Generate More to expand the report with additional insights. The system analyzes the existing data and identifies new patterns, trends, or key insights that were not included in the initial summary.
• Add focus areas You can customize the report to be focused on a particular subject. Click Add and enter the topic for which you want deeper insights. For example, error clicks, payment issues, and API errors. 
• Provide feedback Use the Like or Dislike options to provide your feedback for the key insights or recommendations. This helps refine future summaries.
