Flushing Wingify test data allows you to clear the test data that your test has collected previously. Using this option, you can typically make any modifications and start the test all over again, collecting data from scratch.
If a visitor has already become part of the test, the Wingify cookies are stored in the visitor’s browser. This typically means that the visitor is not tracked again, and the same variation is displayed to the visitor as before. However, if the visitor converts during the second visit, the conversion is tracked. Thus, Wingify will not track visitor data for the same visitor but will record conversions if the visitor converts during the second visit.
For example, say a visitor has become a part of your test (but not converted) before you flushed the data. Now, if you flush the data and the same visitor returns to the same test and converts this time, Wingify will record a conversion but not the visit because the Wingify cookies are already in the browser. Thus, you may see a report that displays visitor count as Zero and conversion as 1.
Tip: We recommend that you do not flush the test data and run the same test again. Rather clone the test and implement the changes to the cloned test.
Each cloned test will have a new ID and new cookies are created for all the visitors, without having to worry about tracking previous visits or conversion data.
To flush a campaign’s data
- Navigate to the campaign you want to flush data for.
- Click the More options ⋮ menu at the top of the campaign page.
- Click Flush Data from the dropdown menu.
- In the Flush Campaign Data dialog, type FLUSH DATA in the confirmation field.
- Click Yes, Flush Data.
Note:
- This action cannot be undone. All data collected for the campaign will be permanently deleted.
- As a best practice, if you absolutely have to start over with data collection in your test, you should first pause the running test, clone the test, and make changes to the cloned test.
