About Adobe Experience Platform
Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) is a data and experience management platform that helps businesses deliver data-driven and personalized experiences across various customer touchpoints. It integrates data from multiple sources to create unified customer profiles. This enables companies to understand and engage their customers in a better way.
With this integration, you can target specific segments of your AEP audience directly in Wingify, enabling customized and relevant experiences for each user.
For example, a retail brand wants to customize its website content and optimize conversion rates by targeting specific customer segments from Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) in Wingify through tailored A/B tests. By integrating AEP with Wingify, the brand exports real-time customer segments, for example, New Visitors or Returning Customers to Wingify. This allows Wingify to run personalized A/B tests based on those segments, showing tailored content, for example, product recommendations or offers to each group. The integration optimizes the website experience, improving engagement and conversion rates by delivering the right content to the right audience.
Integrate Wingify with Adobe Experience Platform
The integration process involves three steps:
- Install the Custom Personalization With Attributes destination in AEP
- Enable the integration in Wingify
- Configure the API
Install the Custom Personalization With Attributes destination in AEP
A destination in AEP helps determine which audience a visitor belongs to.
To install a destination in AEP:
- Log in to your AEP account.
- Go to AEP > Destinations > Catalog.
- From the available destination types, select Custom Personalization With Attributes.
- Click Add Destination.
-
Configure the destination details as follows:
- Destination name: Wingify
- Description: Add an appropriate description for the destination.
- Integration alias: vwo-target
-
Datastream ID: Select the data stream set up for your website.
- Click Next.
- [Optional] Configure Governance policy & enforcement actions. Use this option to streamline internal management. Set up governance policies and enforcement actions to categorize your destination types, such as Analytics, Ecommerce, or others listed on the platform.
- Click Create.
-
To activate a particular audience, go to the destination, click Activate Audience, select the audience, and click Next.
- [Optional] Configure mappings. You can skip this step as the Wingify-AEP integration does not need this information.
- Click Next > Review > Finish.
NOTE: If you wish to target a new audience in Wingify, you must first activate it in the AEP destination.
Configure the API
Configuring the API is essential for enabling seamless data exchange between Wingify and AEP. This section lists the steps you must follow to generate the API credentials and configure them in Wingify.

To push Wingify event data into Adobe Experience Platform, you must first complete the setup in Adobe Experience Platform. For detailed steps, see Integrate Wingify with Adobe Experience Platform via Adobe Data Collection.
Once the integration is configured successfully, your AEP segments are enabled in Wingify for targeting visitors for your Wingify campaigns.
Use AEP Data as a Targeting Condition in Wingify Campaigns
After importing audiences from AEP into Wingify, you can use them in your campaigns.
To use the AEP audience or segments as a targeting condition in Wingify:
- Log in to your Wingify account.
- From the left navigation menu, go to Web Experimentation or Personalize and create a test campaign.
- On the Configuration tab, click Targeting.
- Under Segments, click the pencil icon next to All Traffic.
- Go to Custom Segment.
- From the Attributes tab, select Adobe Experience Platform Audience.
-
Fetch the audience synced in Wingify from your Adobe Experience Platform account from the dropdown.
NOTE: After you configure the API, it may take 15 to 30 minutes for the audience list to appear in Wingify. This may be due to a delay in the AEP API call, which requires time to populate the necessary information on the page. -
Click Add another condition to add multiple conditions. You can also define the logical relationship between the conditions using And/Or operators and use brackets to organize the conditions.
For more information on custom segments in Wingify, see How to Define Custom Visitor Segments. - Click Save Now.
NOTE: When you choose an Adobe Experience Platform Audience as your targeting condition for your Wingify campaign, we set the Poll Until setting to Custom Event by default, which includes a code snippet that waits 5 seconds for the Adobe Experience Audience (window.vwo_aep_segments) to be available. The segmentation condition will not apply if this is not available within 5 seconds. This time interval can be modified (as per your requirement).
