Overview
Wingify’s Mobile Recordings enable you to capture your visitors’ interactions within your mobile application as recordings that can be replayed as videos. This includes interactions such as scrolls, swipes, and single and double taps.

- This feature is currently available on request only.
- If you are using Wingify's Feature Management & Experimentation (FME) product, you can seamlessly access recordings of experiments, personalizations, and rollout campaigns out of the box.
These recordings give you a more vivid picture of what your visitors are looking for in your application, which function they use the most, where they are stuck in the process of purchase, why they drop off midway, how long they spend time on your application, and many more insights.
NOTE:
- The Mobile Recordings feature works on sampling, where the visitors will be randomly sampled from the total traffic on your mobile application. To know more about sampling, refer to How Sampling Works in Wingify?.
- The quota for this feature will be consumed based on the number of visitors sampled per month, irrespective of the number of times they return within the month. To know more about quota consumption, refer to Visitor Counting Logic in Wingify.
- The data retention period for your account is one within which the data gathered for your account will be retained in the Wingify servers. This is subjective to the Wingify plan that you have taken up. All the mobile session recordings will be retained subject to the data retention norms specified for your Wingify account plan.
With Mobile Recordings, you can typically do the following:
- Record visitor sessions on your mobile application for the configured version.
- Use time frames and segmentation criteria to filter the recordings for analyzing the characteristic behaviors of different cohorts.
- View the recorded sessions of the visitors in Wingify’s recording player, where you can avail control options such as changing the playback speed, skipping pauses within a session, and jumping to a specific point on the playback using the seek bar to go through the recordings at your required pace.
- Save recordings (limit subject to Wingify plan) to your Wingify account and retain them beyond the retention period.
NOTE: Wingify allows you to configure recordings so as not to store sensitive information dynamically. By default, Wingify hides all key presses right on the SDK side to avoid storing or transmitting any personal or sensitive data to Wingify servers.

Things to Consider While Working With Mobile Recordings in Wingify
Few things that you must be aware of before you start working with Mobile Session Recordings in Wingify:
- The maximum duration of a session for which recordings will be captured is 2 hours. If it exceeds the two-hour duration, the subsequent moments will be recorded in a new session.
- A visitor needs to spend a minimum of 5 seconds in a session for the recording to be seen in the Mobile Recordings dashboard.
- A recording session expires after 30 minutes of idle time. For example, if a visitor is idle for 30 minutes, the current recording session ends. Post this, a new recording session starts. A session also expires when the application is closed.
- Mobile Recordings in Wingify collect the data only from the sampled visitors. To know more about sampling in Wingify, refer to How Wingify Sampling Works.
- The Mobile Recordings dashboard will display the recordings based on the retention period of your account. Once the retention period expires, you will not be able to view them. However, the saved recordings will remain beyond the data retention period stipulated for your Wingify plan.
